The Queen and Princess candidates are encouraged to enter a project in the Youth Fair. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as listed in the general rules. Only one queen and one princess will be allowed to represent a club or chapter.
Queen and princess candidates will be introduced during the rodeo at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008. At this time, the queen and princess will receive their banners. Buckles will be awarded at the end of the rodeo when the rodeo contestants receive their awards.
The queen contest will be for age 14 and up as of August 31, 2007. The princess contest will be for ages 9–13 or 8 years old and enrolled in the 3rd grade, as of August 31, 2007.
Criteria
The queen and princess will be chosen by the following criteria:
- 1/3
- ticket sales
- 1/3
- beauty contest
- 1/3
- personality contest
Each category will be judged on a 13 point scale.

- 4:00 p.m.: Personality Contest — Fair Hall, Fairgrounds

- 6:00 p.m.: Beauty Contest — Show arena
- Sat, Mar 29
- 8:30 — 10 a.m.: TURN-IN TIME FOR TICKETS AND MONEY — Weldon’s Western Wear, corner of Bell & E Hickory, Denton
- Sat, Mar 29
- 11 a.m.: Buyers’s BBQ Lunch, Exhibit Bldg, grounds
- Sat, Mar 29
- 7:00 p.m.: Rodeo & crowning of Queen & Princess, Rodeo arena — Fairground
Awards
Tickets, Beauty, Personality — Winners in these three categories will all receive $75 belt buckles
- RODEO QUEEN and PRINCESS:
- $125 belt buckle and $100 scholarship
- First Runner-up in each division:
- $75 belt buckle
- Second Runner-up in each division:
- $60 belt buckle
