Livestock Judging Contest

Entries due by 3 p.m. March 27, 2008 in the livestock office. Judging will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Contestants not present at this time will not be permitted to participate in the contest. 4-H and FFA Chapters may enter as teams or individually. There is no limit to the teams per school, chapter, or 4-H club. Teams are limited to 4 members.
Contest Format
- Classes of livestock of four animals each (beef, swine, lambs, goats) will be placed.
- 2 question classes may be included.
Rules of Contest
- Contestants will be allowed 10 minutes for each class.
- Official judges may use all mechanical and electrical devices available to assist in placing.
- State judging contest rules and regulations will apply.
- Awards will be presented in both Junior (8th grade and lower) and Senior (9th grade and up) divisions.
Note
Exhibitors: If you are asked to supply livestock for the Judging Contest, you are expected to cooperate with Officials. You will be notified of intent to use your animal and if selected, they will remain in place one hour after the Judging Contest is complete before being allowed to return to the barn. DCLA has the right to use any animals for use of livestock judging.
